Askham Hall musical Festival weekend,

Askham Hall is situated in a secluded part of the Lake District just over the hills from Ullswater and set the in the heart of Cumbria’s historic Lowther Estate. This February the 13th century stately home turned restaurant, will host a special weekend of concerts, each followed by a feast-style dinner in the Front Hall. Pianist, Noam Greenberg and violinist Helena Winkelman will be among the international musicians heading to the Lakes for this third Askham Hall Music Festival Weekend.
World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival

The World’s Original Marmalade Awards and Festival will be returning on Saturday 17th March, so put the date in your diaries and get ready to go orange! Join us for a weekend of marmalade celebrations with demonstrations, talks, exhibitions and shows that will inspire you, your family and friends to take this classic British preserve to your heart.
Kirkby Lonsdale Beer and Music Festival

Entry is free although if you would like to camp, bring your camper van or caravan, then there is a charge to cover use of club facilities and pitch maintenance. We ask you to vacate the site by midday on the Monday.
Children and dogs welcome. Dogs must be kept on lead at all times.
Cumberland Sausage Festival

The 4th Sausage, Food and Drink Festival over May Day at Muncaster Castle! A three day celebration of good food, drink and all things Cumbrian, over the Bank Holiday weekend.
With celebrity chefs, cookery demos, sausage competitions, entertainment for all ages and of course the food!
Windermere Boat Show at Ferry Nab Windermere
Fri 18 – Sun 20 May 2018, free entry
2018 will see the Windermere Boat Show expand on the huge success of previous years bringing an element of adventure for folks of all ages on and off the water. The shores of England’s largest lake will come alive with local companies offering water sports such as stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, wake boarding and sailing, plus a huge collection of vessels, new and used. Small motor boats to large luxury yachts will be on display to view with local artisan food stalls offering a taste of Cumbria to keep you going for the day.
The Muncaster Festival

The festival culminates with the International Jesters Tournament held on the final day. Come along and watch this year’s hopefuls battle it out to win the prestigious title of Fool of Muncaster 2018, compered by current Fool Dizzy O’Dare.
The Great North Swim,
Brockhole on Windermere

The Great North Swim, Europe’s biggest open-water swimming event returns to the Lake District in June 2018 at its new home at Brockhole on Windermere. Swimmers of all levels and abilities can choose from a range of distances including 250 metres, ½ mile, 1 mile, 2 miles, 5k, 10k or the fantastic SwimRun event.
Classic Car Rally

Leighton Hall will once again play host to the Lakeland Classic Car & Motorcycle Show on Sunday 1st July 2018.
Exhibiting on the day will be large displays of the regions local car clubs and privately owned vehicles. The show will also include trade stands and an autojumble for anyone looking to bag a bargain. With parades, running commentaries throughout the day, judging of the classes, competitions and prizes galore, this is a great day out for the whole family.

See you in the fields for Kendal Calling 2018… the multi award-winning independent festival of music, arts, food & drink now returning for its 13th year. Westmorland County Show

Founded in 1799, the Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country – and one of the oldest – renowned for its relaxed, convivial atmosphere and firm roots in rural tradition.
The County Show has its heart firmly in agriculture and is a major livestock show – featuring animals from alpacas to pigs and heavy horses.
