Bed and Breakfast rate is per room per night and includes:
- full Lakeland cooked breakfast as well as continental options
- free use of swimming pool, leisure facilities and parking
- free Wi-Fi internet access

For Friday and Saturday nights a minimum stay of two nights and an additional charge for both Friday and Saturday nights is usually applied. Bank Holidays and special packages will have supplements.
All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rate.
Once booked, rates are non transferable to any other offers or rates as our prices may fluctuate in line with market demand.
The rates are per room per night for 2 sharing a double room (1 in single room)
Payment
We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard or Maestro. We do not accept Amex.
Arrivals and Departures
You can check-in from 3.00 pm on the scheduled date of arrival.
If you wish to check-in earlier, you can do so by buying an early 2.00 pm check-in for £20.00.
You must check-out before 11.00 am on the scheduled date of departure.
If you wish to check-out later you can do so by buying a late 12.00 noon check-out for £30.00. These services are subject to availability and must be booked direct with the hotel.
In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference; their passport/identity card/driving licence and a valid credit or debit card which will be swiped in the presence of the card holder. If guests are travelling from outside the UK, Ireland or any country in the Commonwealth we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of your passport/identity card and details of their next destination. These records will be kept for at least 12 months and may be disclosed or made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime. The information above may be requested for each member of your party over the age of 16 and we reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.
Children
Children are welcome at Hillthwaite but we have a limited number of family rooms to accommodate extra beds and are by prior arrangement only. Please note if booking a room other than our occasion suites, the bed may be a sofa bed or a fold out z-bed recommended for children no older than 12.
Child Bed and Breakfast rates are per child, per night, sharing with two adults and include breakfast.

Dogs
Well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay at Hillthwaite in specific bedrooms only (2 Classic Rooms). There is a charge of £20 per night for having your dog stay at Hillthwaite and there is a restriction of 2 dogs per room as a maximum. Dogs are permitted to stay in your room but we request for them not to be left unattended for any long lengths of time and are not allowed on any beds or furniture. We reserve the right to make additional charges for any damage or additional cleaning caused by your dog. If you wish to bring your four-legged friend into the communal areas, the bar is dog friendly however, dogs are not permitted in any other areas of the property. (Only by prior arrangement may you be permitted to dine with your dog in the bar for breakfast, lunch or dinner – please make a request at reception).
Please remember to leave your room key on your departure. If you inadvertently take the key home with you we will give you seven days to post it back (recorded delivery) otherwise a replacement key charge of £25 will be charged to your card.
Deposits
Reservations may be guaranteed with a deposit of £50.00 per person payable by credit or debit card at the time of booking (please see cancellations below)
Final payment can be made by cash, credit or debit card.
Outstanding Balance
Unless by prior arrangement, full payment is due on arrival at the hotel. We do not accept cash Room keys are to be handed to reception and any balance on your account is to be paid before leaving the hotel.
Damage, Breakage and Theft
We expect you to care for the room you are staying in and leave it in a clean and tidy condition. You are responsible and liable for any breakages and damage caused by accident or otherwise, and for anything that goes missing from the room. Please report these to reception as soon as they occur. If damage is caused, you are responsible up to the full cost. The cost of the damage / repair will be taken from your credit/debit card used to secure your booking with us.
Ice buckets and glasses
We can provide an ice bucket and glasses should you need them – a £5.00 charge will be added to your departure invoice
Lost property
If you would like your items returning, we are happy to send them back to you. We simply ask for the postage and a £1.50 handling fee. Unclaimed items will be kept for 6 months and if not claimed will be donated to a local charity.
Cancellations
For bookings made direct with the hotel a deposit of £50 per person is required on booking to secure your reservation. Should you need to cancel your reservation, you can do so free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival date (up to 48 hours – see below), the deposit will be forfeited unless we are able to resell the room on your behalf. Any cancellation within 48 hours prior to arrival will be fully charged for the stay unless we can resell the room on your behalf. All no shows will be charged the full amount.
We strongly recommend travel insurance to cover your booking.
ADVANCE PURCHASE/NON-REFUNDABLE RATES: Payment in full is required for all ADVANCE PURCHASE/NON-REFUNDABLE bookings at the time of booking. Because ADVANCE PURCHASE/NON-REFUNDABLE RATE rooms are made available at a discounted rate, these rooms and any meals or other extras booked with them cannot be amended or refunded at any time.
A reservation is a legally binding contract, therefore we urge you to take out holiday insurance. We are obliged to advise all guests under current legislation any outstanding balances are to be settled on or before your day of departure.
Indoor Swimming Pool
No lone swimming permitted in the indoor pool.
Smoking Policy
Hillthwaite is completely non smoking. In line with government law and hotel policy no smoking is permitted in any bedrooms or anywhere inside the building. Damage caused or cleaning required as a result of smoking in bedrooms is chargeable. Rooms which cannot be let as a result of smoking will be charged for at full tariff rates to compensate for additional cleaning and loss of revenue.
Policy on Alcohol, Drugs & Disorder
Hillthwaite reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate applicable laws. Hillthwaite Hotel may refuse, in its discretion, to admit or refuse service or accommodation in our Hotels or may remove a person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by Hillthwaite Hotel. Hillthwaite Hotel may refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with applicable liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests, seeks to use the hotel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the Hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to property or guests; or otherwise refuses to abide by the standards or policies established by Hillthwaite Hotel.
