Northern Craft Beer Festival

We hold beer festivals twice a year (March and July) and have been doing since 2007.
We gather together some of the most exciting & innovative independent breweries to show off their beer over a three day festival.
There’ll be cask and keg bars throughout the brewery. Cask ales will all be served on hand pull, from properly chilled cellars.

Carlisle Foodies Fest

Carlisle Foodies Fest will return to the City Centre for three days this July and will celebrate all that’s great about Cumbrian Food and Drink. Featuring a mix of local producers and traders, as well as a host of international gastronomic delights, the Foodies Fest really will have it all.
The centerpiece of this year’s event will be a series of demonstrations by multi Michelin star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, which will take place on Saturday 22 July. Not only will Jean-Christophe be sharing his passion and Gaelic charm during his demonstrations, he will also be meeting traders and members of the public throughout the day as he samples the delights that the Festival has to offer.

Penrith Agricultural Show

The Penrith Agricultural Society held the first Penrith Show in 1834. Since then this annual celebration is held on the fourth Saturday in July each year, with the 2017 show on 22nd July.
The show has gathered much momentum in recent years. With a wide spectrum of competition classes for farm livestock, arable, horses, rabbits, poultry, show jumping, industrial and horticulture, to a host of local trade stands, food hall and rural crafts marquee.
Cumbria Steam Gathering at Cark Airfield

Cumbria Steam Gathering is back and is set to be as loud, colourful and fun-packed as ever!, The gathering is always a real crowd pleaser and a great day out for all the family with tonnes of activities to get involved in. There will be a stunning variety of spectacular steam engines, vintage commercial vehicles, hundreds of classic cars, motorcycles, bicycles, agricultural and industrial tractors, farm equipment and stationary engines to admire and enjoy.
Lunesdale Agricultural Show

A great day out at a local country show in the picturesque town of Kirkby Lonsdale. Farmers from the local hills and dales bring their best stock to the annual agricultural show. All visitors welcome to come along and view some fine farm animals compete for rosettes and trophies. If you’ve ever watched Country File and enjoyed scenes of rural life, then come along and experience the friendly hustle and bustle of a traditional country show. Other entertainments include bouncy castle, Punch and Judy show, archery, birds of prey and ferret racing. Vintage vehicle display, Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling.

Lakes Alive at Brockhole on Windermere

The festival offers a weekend of spectacular happenings in and around Kendal and wider Lake District National Park. Good facilities whatever the weather, with plenty to do indoors and outdoors. Indoor play and learn for the under 5’s, exhibitions, adventure playground, boat and bike hire, mini golf and boat trips with Windermere Lake Cruises.

Holker Chilli Fest

A two day festival with specialist chilli companies from all over the country, local specialist food suppliers, catering featuring cuisine from around the world and a variety of quirky gifts. There will also be entertainment, cookery demonstrations, chilli eating competitions and children’s activities.
Westmorland County Show

Voted as one of the UK’s favourite Agricultural Shows, and 2015 Tourism Event of the Year, the Westmorland County Show is one of the largest one day shows in the country, held on the second Thursday in September attracting 30,000 people. We pride ourselves on being a major livestock Show, with its heart firmly in agriculture. Sections include cattle, sheep, goats, horses, pigs, heavy horses, alpacas, dogs and poultry, as well as marquees for the Women’s Institute, Learning or Life, Crafts from Cumbria – supporting a wide range of wonderful artisan crafts, Food Hall – entirely supported by local producers promoting their products, with special demonstrations, rural crafts and over 350 trade stands.
