Travelling to the Lake District is very easy. Whether you are planning to travel to the hotel by car, train or coach, there are ample means to reach us.
Travelling by Train
The best train stop is Oxenholme station located very close to Kendal, a famous market town on the edge of the Lake District National Park. The station is on the West Coast Mainline within easy reach of the main London and Scotland stations and has connecting trains to Windermere. There is also a straight through train from Windermere to Manchester Airport.
Travelling by Coach
Coach travellers need not worry about the route, just relax sit back, you will know when you have arrived in the Lake District; the scenery will tell you. Buses stop at Windermere train station from where there are plenty of taxis availble to bring you to the hotel, or, if you prefer we can arrange a taxi for you to pick you up from the station.
Using the Ferry
A car ferry links Ferry Nab on the eastern shore of Windermere with Ferry House, Far Sawrey on the west.
It's a drive-on, drive-off service where car passengers stay in their cars and an attendant comes round to collect the fare once the ferry is underway. It is a popular service so do expect queues during busy periods, especially in the Summer.
