Introduction:   
We are a 34 Bedroom Hotel, with 3 Bedrooms on the ground floor, 20 Bedrooms on the first floor, 7 Bedrooms on the second floor of the main building and 4 Bedrooms in a separate house next door called the annex (20 metres away). We are located in an elevated position between the villages of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. We have single, twin, double and family rooms. Our emphasis lies in quality service with special strengths in repeat business and customer loyalty.

Pre-Arrival:
Contact via: Web-Site and direct GDS booking system, Telephone or Fax.
Arrival possibilities are present via Windermere Railway and Bus Station – West Coast Mainline & National Bus services exist (approx. 1 mile from the Hotel). The M6 Jct 36 is approx 15 miles away.
Windermere & Bowness-on-Windermere are both approx. 10 minutes walk away. Lake Side Cruises are available from Bowness-on-Windermere.
Bookings can be made directly through the internet/ web-site connection via GDS.

Arrival:
Main Entrance is via conservatory lounge at the top of the driveway off Thornbarrow Road. We have a porter available throughout the reception duty period (8am- 10.30pm). Guests receive information regarding in house services.

Main Entrance & Reception:
We have a ramp up to the Main Entrance for disabled access. The Reception lies off the main entrance hallway to the right, with a bar area adjoining. Access to the first floor and ground floor rooms is immediately off the reception area. The Reception is 105cm high and registration can be completed sitting down at tables in the adjoining lounge area. Plenty of natural light enters the building in this area, assisted by ample wall mounted lighting. Carpet flooring throughout, tiled floor to conservatory.

Public Toilets and accessibility:
Both the Ladies and Gents toilets are just a few steps from reception near the ground floor rooms. From this corridor the leisure facility and walkway to the annex is accessed.  Steps are included in the walkway from the hotel to the annex building.

Terrace:
Split on two levels, the lower level enclosed with stone-work walling seating approx 10-15 guests and a higher level with a few connecting steps seating approx 6-8 guests enclosed by iron railings. Stone floors are present throughout.

Restaurant:
Also adjoining the main hallway from the entrance just a few steps from the lounges. Some 35 Tables seating a maximum of approx. 70 guests in 3 separate dining areas. The main through way and flow of guests is always guaranteed, with generous spacing of tables throughout. We offer a 5 Course Evening Dinner which includes a vegetarian dish some of which may be gluten free. We also offer a 3 Course Children’s Menu. The Restaurant has numerous large bay windows giving light to the main areas. Ample wall lighting is also present. Carpet flooring throughout.

Bar:
Situated just off the reception with ample seating access to all lounges. We stock 65 Bins of wine and numerous spirits. A Lounge Menu accompanies the offer in this area. Carpet flooring except behind the bar area throughout.

Laundry:
We have an in-house laundry service situated to the rear of the hotel. All Hotel linen is washed here and guest can take advantage of this should the need arise.

Leisure facility:
To the side of the building with a 7 metre swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Male and female changing areas and toilets exist with a central shower area (this area is has floor tiles). The Pool area has an astroturf carpet surrounding it, and has graduated steps leading into it from one end. The maximum depth of the pool is 2 metres at the far end. Ample lighting exists and one end of the facility has large terrace style windows. Our leisure facility is open from 8am until 10pm daily.

Outdoor facilities:
There are no outdoor facilities.

Bedrooms:
All Bedrooms have En-Suite facilities. Annex room 4 and Room 26 only have en-suite shower facilities, all other rooms have baths/ showers. Mobile grab rails and non-slip mats are available from reception.  A Fridge and DVD players (DVD’s are available from reception free of charge) exist in our Executive and superior Lake View Rooms.  Colour Televisions are in all bedrooms.
Lighting is individually designed with wall and bed-side lighting throughout. Bedrooms are carpeted with tiled bathroom floors.
In-built storage cupboards are available throughout. The rest of the furniture is flexibly movable and items can be removed if so wished for. A substantial Room File in each room gives our guest ample of information about the Hotel and its surroundings.

A Tea and Coffee making tray is available in each room.
The Hotel is non-smoking throughout. Fire regulations apply.

Additional Information:
We pride ourselves in our flexible and welcoming approach to guests. Many guests ask for and receive advice regarding their stays itinerary/ local events/ walks/ National Park Info. etc.
Regular staff training exists regarding standards of service, with special strengths in the field of locally based recycling and environmental issues (National Park awareness).

Future Plans:
We hope to improve (decorate) all hallways in the latter part of 2010 (most likely Dec.10). Environmental improvements are in hand regarding new lighting and a swimming pool cover.
